The view from the northern end of the city. Last Sunday we went out for a surf. Really nice (beginner) waves. No current and about 25 degrees water temperature. We did even see sea turtles who were in a recovery station. Unfortunately do a lot of people think the sea is a big dumpster and once in while you surf e.g. next to a milk box...

The view from the library. Did I mention that João Pessoa is the second greenest city worldwide? All over the town is still some Atlantic Forest (Mata atlantica) left. This forest used to be all along the Brazilian coast from the north to the south until the Portuguese came and chopped everything down, in the Northeast especially, because of sugarcane plantations.

This is a typical BBQ stand one Friday night during a concert. On the right you can see my friend Andréa who didn’t want to wait for the guy to grill her order, so she did it herself. The picture is taken down town in the historical center. João Pessoa is one of the oldest cities in Brazil (around 450years old) and João Pessoa was a former president candidate.

Sundown at praia do jacare (crocodile beach) in the river Paraiba. This river passes the whole city and ends with all its waste in the ocean. Wouldn't wanna swim in it but you get at least a beautiful sunset.
